PLCnext Technology ecosystem
As a leader in the field of automation, FESTO understands the trends in the development of the industry and the changes in customer needs. In the context of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation, openness, flexibility and interconnectivity have become key characteristics of automation systems. Traditional closed system can not meet the increasingly diversified application scenarios and rapid iteration of the technical requirements.
1756-DMF30 This collaboration is a significant outcome of Phoenix Electric’s open strategy and an important step on Festo’s road to change. The two parties will establish a long-term, close and mutually beneficial partnership based on PLCnext Technology to jointly lead the future development of industrial automation. Festo is also an important ecological strategic partner of Phoenix Electric PLCnext Technology, following Yaskawa, and will bring many new opportunities to existing and future customers through the co-construction of the PLCnext ecosystem.
• Ecological strategic cooperation
Yaskawa, a leading global provider of motion control, robotics and industrial automation solutions, has decided in 2020 to develop future controllers based on Phoenix Electric’s PLCnext Technology. As part of the framework of the cooperation agreement, Phoenix Electric will license the PLCnext Runtime to Yaskawa and further participate in the joint development. Yaskawa plans to first apply the PLCnext Runtime to the field of motion control and robotics in Europe and the United States, and the two sides will integrate technology in motion control, robotics, safety and other aspects to complement each other’s advantages, and work together to develop intelligent automation solutions for the future. This cross-border collaboration will inject new impetus into industrial automation, driving the development of industrial automation from proprietary solutions to open, future-oriented ecosystems.
PLCnext Virtual Control Release preview
In 2023, on the occasion of Phoenix Electric’s 100th anniversary, the PLCnext Virtual Control global strategy was officially launched. As a PLCnext Technology ecological platform level solution will be launched in China in Q2 this year, PLCnext Virtual Control will not be limited by exclusive hardware, with the help of virtualization and container containerization technology can be easily embedded in the user hardware platform, through in-depth integration and development of the kernel layer. Create a new mode of cooperation.
1756-DMF30 Customers and eco-partners can take advantage of the openness of PLCnext Software technology to customize controllers that not only natively support the IEC 61131-3 programming language and high-level languages such as C/C++, C# or Matlab® Simulink®. And can use a variety of open interfaces to meet the user’s individual needs, can integrate the user’s original process calculation library, accelerate the process of application development, quickly and stably landed in the industry application, Meet customer requirements for IEC61131 software solutions for PLC, DCS, industrial robots, CNC machine tools, industrial Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and other different product equipment or scenarios.
PLCnext Virtual Control will become a reliable base for industrial digital Technology. With the strong IT/OT integration capability and openness of PLCnext Technology, it will integrate open source software and future technologies to create a thriving technology ecology. It will break down boundaries and make everything possible, helping users easily cope with future challenges.
