Aerotech Inc., a global leader in precision motion control and automation, recently released a new version of its Automation1 motion control platform. Version 2.7 releases new software updates and more support for drivers and laser scopes, including 3D data visualization, new HMI customization tools, improved development tools, and Enhanced Scanning Galvanometer Control (ESC), a feature that allows laser galvanometer users to achieve higher peak speeds and productivity.
RLX2-IHNF-E “Each version of Automation1 is designed to help users control their precise movements as easily as possible,” said Patrick Wheeler, senior product manager at Aerotech. “Version 2.7 is particularly powerful, making setup and configuration easier while also providing more hardware support.”
Major updates to Automation1 2.7 include:
•3D data visualization. The Automation1 Studio data visualization tool now allows users to plot their movements in three dimensions (3D). Users can examine 3D data with intuitive pan, zoom, and cursor controls, and annotate 3D data by simultaneously viewing a single-dimensional time trace.
• Custom modules. Users can customize the HMI more than ever with the Automation1 MachineApps HMI builder for Windows PCS. With the new custom module tool, they can develop HMI modules using.NET. These modules can be used with standard modules on any HMI screen designed using MachineApps.
• Development tool improvements. Users can take advantage of Autmation1 Studio’s new Program Variables TAB and global String variables support for faster development, which allows you to check RLX2-IHNF-E program variables and global string variables as you build, optimize, and debug application code.
• Customized driver platform. The Motus 1 drive platform bracket is now located in the machine Setup wizard with 95 mm, 125 mm and 170 mm frame size options. These platforms are unique in that they maximize payload and actuator speed, making them ideal for pick-and-place, part shuttle, and gantry applications. Aerotech’s partner Motion Plus is in stock for fast shipping.
• Laser galvanometer Control Enhancement (ESC). This feature is beneficial for our laser scanning galvanometer customers. ESC enables our industry-leading scanning galvanometers to stabilize and accelerate faster, resulting in higher motion speeds. It also eliminates the need for “jump delay” and reduces trace errors.
• Other improvements include: Offset compensation support, new task variables, INI file support, Modbus TCP/IP for driver-based controllers, improved configuration signal dialogs, user-defined task errors and warnings, CNC functionality for MachineApps HMI, improved sidebar module, Aeroscript And help function improvement.
