IS200PMCIH1ABA Siemens today signed a memorandum of understanding with Foxconn Technology Group (Foxconn) to accelerate digital transformation and sustainable development in the ICT and electric vehicle industries. Through this strategic collaboration, Siemens and Foxconn will work together to create a scalable and seamlessly integrated engineering and manufacturing ecosystem.

The agreement identifies a number of areas where the two parties will collaborate to further enhance Foxconn’s production automation, including: Electronic Manufacturing services (EMS), innovative business models in electric vehicles, and commissioned Design and Manufacturing Services (CDMS). By applying Siemens’ portfolio of advanced factory automation solutions and industrial software, the two companies will explore more possibilities for building the factory of the future. The comprehensive suite of software and solutions within Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform, will also play a key role in optimizing Foxconn’s engineering and manufacturing workflows, driving operational efficiency and flexibility.

The two parties will accelerate the green transformation of the electronics manufacturing industry by applying digital solutions and expertise to create a monitoring mechanism for carbon emissions in the production process.
