PXIE-4357 Bosch Rexroth’s Linux-based ctrlX OS operating system has made great progress in the automation market and is now available in Congate’s embedded computers. The collaboration between the two companies opens up new possibilities for users of Congatet’s embedded and edge computing products. ctrlX OS also provides access to Bosch Rexroth’s extensive industrial ecosystem.
An open and modular solution platform is the main way to achieve the industry’s digitalization and sustainability goals. To this end, Bosch Rexroth will open the ctrlX OS operating system to the entire automation market at the end of 2022, attracted by this, more and more companies are joining the ranks of cooperation.
Steffen Winkler, Vice President of Bosch Rexroth’s Automation and Electrification Solutions Sales Business unit, said: “The ctrlX OS is highly versatile, can be configured according to the requirements, and can also provide a variety of design support for embedded computer platforms based on the ctrlX OS according to manufacturer independent standards. Users of Congatet’s open and modular solution platform can now also benefit. The establishment of this important and new partnership further demonstrates that openness is the only viable way to promote continuous development in the field of automation.”
PXIE-4357 ctrlX OS opens up a complete world of automation for users
Congatet is a rapidly growing technology company focused on embedded and edge computing products based on modular computers. With the ctrlX OS ecosystem, users have access to a complete portfolio of solutions and numerous applications, which means that ctrlX OS applications and ctrlX World applications from partner networks can be used simultaneously. Even for complex embedded applications, including edge and cloud integration, the development process is simplified thanks to pre-built building blocks at both the hardware and software levels. This results in faster time to market and a high degree of design reliability.
Providing fully integrated, application-ready solutions for applications is one of Congatet’s goals, from the field connectivity of sensors and actuators all the way to the cloud.
Dominik Reßing, CEO of Congatet, said: “We have found Bosch Rexroth to be a globally active and highly effective partner, able to support our modular and open design approach for secure embedded building blocks in an integrated and application-oriented way at the software level, This makes our modular, scalable family of solutions for connected and cloud integration applications even more attractive. These applications create significant added value for developers, for example, they can develop applications faster and more efficiently. This makes it easier for modern factories to get the speed and flexibility they need.”
