On 27 June 2024, the Detmold Weidmuller Group was awarded the title of “Successful Practice Company” by RWTH Aachen University for its outstanding approach to global production management. The main reason for this award is that Weidmuller has not only worked together to improve production efficiency, but also to implement sustainable production processes at its plants worldwide.

8446-1019 The Rheinsch-Sephal Rheinische University of Technology Aachen (RWTH Aachen) has selected 59 companies out of some 3,000 that it considers eligible to participate in the benchmark study. According to the results of the study, RWTH Aachen has selected five companies that demonstrate exceptional efficiency and sustainability in global production management. Companies were evaluated in categories such as “sustainable strategic planning,” “highly adaptable organizational structures,” “sustainable production networks,” “global process standards,” and “People and culture.” The award was presented by Prof. Dr. Gunther Schuh, Head of the Department of Production Engineering at RWTH Aachen University.

One of the important reasons WeidMuller received this award is its sustainable production methods. Weidmuller already uses at least 20% recycled raw materials for the production of its products. In the course of its operations, Weidmuller always insists on 100% reuse of stamping waste and recycling plastic waste, putting social responsibility first.
