L-TEC, a specialist in the field of outdoor elevators, is headquartered in the small town of Weira in Thuringia, Germany. The company offers a range of elevator systems with flexible design and car capacity ranging from 4 to 14 people to meet transportation needs of different sizes. L-TEC’s elevator solutions are not only suitable for barrier-free access, but also for complex terrain conditions. This innovative concept was first proposed by the company’s managing director Frank Scholz in 2009, and a successful prototype product was developed. After years of development, L-TEC’s elevator products have been distributed in the German, European and Asian markets.

The self-propelled car elevator produced by L-TEC is an innovative transport system that has been widely used around the world. This outdoor lift is particularly good at dealing with difficult terrain, such as slopes or popular tourist spots. However, as automated passenger transport equipment, its safety standards are extremely strict and will vary according to the requirements of different countries.
To meet these safety requirements, L-TEC has chosen to partner with safety specialist Pilz. The PNOZmulti safety solution from Pielmagh is at the heart of the safe operation of L-TEC Mini Mountain lifts. This solution not only complies with globally consistent automation and security standards, but also provides a one-stop shop for security components and related services. From the beginning of the project, PNOZmulti ensured a safe and hassle-free journey for the L-TEC Mini mountain ascent.
Central security management anytime, anywhere
The self-propelled ropeway from L-TEC is an environmentally friendly transport system that can carry up to 14 people and can coexist in harmony with the natural environment and adapt to various landforms. Its design highlights are:
Hydraulic levelling device: ensures that the car is always level during operation, providing a smooth ride experience.
Outdoor shifters: Capable of handling slopes of up to 45 degrees and capable of serving an almost unlimited number of sites.
In order to meet stringent safety standards, including braking systems, speed control and the closing process of automatic doors, L-TEC’s self-propelled ropeways incorporate the safety components of Piermagnetic. These components are responsible for monitoring emergency stops, door opening and closing, car position, stationary state, end position and switching of operating modes to ensure passenger safety.

“No matter which country or region we supply to and how many stops are on the way: with PNOZmulti and its flexible, modular and transferable design, the basic security architecture is already there. Project-specific applications can be implemented quickly and easily, so that the outdoor elevator is ready for operation in the shortest possible time.” Frank Scholz, general manager of L-TEC.
