Jean-Louis Guillou, Vice President of Schneider’s Industrial Controls and Drives division, stressed the importance of frequency converters. Currently, 42% of the emissions reductions reported by Schneider Electric come from frequency converters and more efficient motor utilization. Mr Guillou described the achievement as “remarkable”.

Mr. Guillou noted that the trend of frequency drives is in line with the overall shift in the industry. Smart technology is increasingly integrated into products, doubling the processing power of each new generation of drives. This is also to improve monitoring and control capabilities to further improve overall efficiency. In order to achieve the best performance of the motor, continuous monitoring and adjustment is essential, which requires intelligently controlled automation equipment. In some industries, motor energy consumption accounts for 50% of total energy consumption. Mr. Guillou explained that energy consumption can be reduced by up to 20% by adjusting the motor with an intelligent frequency converter.
