National Instruments (NI), an innovator in test, measurement and control, today announced the introduction of the NI-9694 digital I/O expansion module, a new product that brings greater performance and flexibility to CompactRIO systems.
The NI-9694 module is designed for applications that require high-density, high-throughput digital I/O. It offers 96 single-ended digital I/O lines that connect directly to the FPGA, ensuring high-speed data processing and low latency characteristics. In addition, the module supports a variety of functions, including but not limited to pulse width modulation (PWM) output, counter/timer functionality, and communication capabilities for a variety of industrial automation and test and measurement applications.
The module has been designed with the user’s needs for system integration and scalability in mind, and through the RIO Mezzanine Card (RMC) connector, it can be easily integrated with other CompactRIO modules or C Series I/O modules for a customized solution.” The RMC connector is a high-density, high-throughput connector that features 96 single-ended DIO lines directly connected to the FPGA.”
Concluding remarks:
The introduction of the NI-9694 digital I/O expansion module further enriches National Instruments’ product line in industrial automation and test and measurement. Its high-performance features and flexible integration capabilities will provide engineers and researchers worldwide with more powerful and reliable tools to address increasingly complex engineering challenges.
