The ABB REF615C_C HCFFAEAGANB2BAN1XC is part of the ABB Relion® 615 family, a dedicated feeder protection and measurement and control device designed to protect, control, measure and monitor public and industrial power distribution systems. The REF615C_C provides highly sensitive and selective ground fault protection and can be adapted to neutral ungrounded grids and neutral resistance or impedance grounded grids. The unit also utilizes advanced interstation communication capabilities for ring mesh distribution networks or radiant network protection and is capable of handling multiple feeds and distributed generation.

The REF615C_C unit is available in 12 standard configurations to suit common feeder protection and measurement and control applications. It supports the substation IEC61850 communication standard, Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) and High Availability Seamless Redundancy Protocol (HSR), including IEC 61850-9-2 LE. In addition, the relay supports DNP3, IEC 60870-5-103 and Modbus® protocols, and Profitbus DPV1 protocols via the SPA-ZC 302 protocol adapter.

The REF615C_C device integrates several algorithms, including two differential principles: a standard low-impedance differential and a differential with sensitive action characteristics, suitable for low-impedance grounded power systems. It also features advanced, fast short-circuit and ground fault location, as well as the ability to detect and lock the busbar protection when the CT loop is open.
