GE Fanuc Automation has introduced the VMIVME-7807, also known as the VME-7807RC, a high-performance VME single-board computer based on Intel® Pentium® M processors. The product complies with the EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) and is designed to meet the needs of high-end industrial and commercial applications.
The VMIVME-7807 single-board computer features an Intel 855GME chipset that provides enhanced integrated video and Ultra ATA/100 IDE support. It has the ability to run multiple desktop operating systems, including Microsoft® Windows® XP, Windows 2000, and various Linux® systems. In addition, the single-board computer has a variety of embedded application features, such as three serial ports, four USB 2.0 ports, 32KB of non-volatile RAM, remote Ethernet booting, up to 2GB of CompactFlash storage, and a software selselable watchdog timer.
The single-board computer also offers a PMC extension site (PCI-X, 66MHz) with front panel access. It is suitable for telecommunications, simulation, instrumentation, industrial control, process control and monitoring, factory automation, automated test systems, data acquisition systems and more, especially for applications that require the highest performance processing power in a single VME slot.
The front panel of the VMIVME-7807/VME-7807RC provides access to PMC expansion sites, optional Gigabit Ethernet ports, a 10/100 RJ45 connector, a serial port, SVGA, keyboard/mouse, manual reset switch and status LED indicator. The rear panel I/O supports digital video, serial ATA, COM2, 3 and 4, IDE drives, and two USB ports, and these signals are accessed using transition modules such as VMIAC-0586 /ACC-0586RC and VMIAC-0590 /ACC-0590RC.
