GE has introduced a new primary protection module for steam turbines, the IS220PTURH1B, designed for the Mark VIe family of control systems for emergency shutdown protection. With its advanced functions and performance, the IS220PTURH1B module provides a number of protection functions for the turbine, including overspeed protection, zero speed detection, vibration monitoring and temperature monitoring, to ensure that the turbine can be safely shut down under abnormal conditions, thus improving the operation safety and reliability of the turbine.
The module adopts dual Ethernet interface design, which provides system redundancy and enhances reliability. At the same time, the modular design also makes installation and maintenance easier. Compared with the previous generation product IS220PTURH1A, IS220PTURH1B has been optimized and improved in some parameters or functions, and has higher performance.
The introduction of the IS220PTURH1B module not only reflects GE’s continuous innovation in the field of industrial control systems, but also meets the needs of power, petrochemical and other industries for high-performance control systems.
This module is now widely used in power plants, providing comprehensive protection measures for steam turbines, effectively preventing equipment damage caused by overspeed, vibration, overheating and other failures.
The main functions of the module include:
Overspeed protection: When the turbine speed exceeds the set value, the IS220PTURH1B will send a signal to trigger an emergency shutdown.
Zero speed detection: The module can detect whether the turbine has stopped rotating to ensure that the equipment is in a safe state.
Vibration monitoring: real-time monitoring of turbine vibration to prevent damage caused by excessive vibration.
Temperature monitoring: Monitor the temperature of key turbine components to prevent equipment overheating.
The release of the IS220PTURH1B module further enriches GE’s product line in the field of turbine control, providing a more reliable solution for industrial automation and control systems. With the module put into use, it is expected to significantly improve the efficiency and safety of equipment operation in related industries.
