General Electric (GE) recently introduced a new vibration monitoring module, the IS220PVIBH1A, designed for the Mark VIe family of control systems to meet the needs of high-frequency vibration monitoring in industrial automation and control systems. With 13 vibration sensor input channels, the module supports a wide range of sensor types, such as preprocessor, integrated output accelerometer, Velomitor, etc., covering the frequency range from 0.5Hz to 20kHz, and guarantees a measurement accuracy of ±0.5% and a resolution of 0.01g.
The main function of IS220PVIBH1A module is to collect and read the proximity and vibration information, with high-speed data transmission capability, which can transmit the vibration data of the machine to the controller or the upper computer in real time to achieve fast response and control. In addition, the module is designed with dual 100MB full duplex Ethernet ports that can be connected to one or two Ethernet networks, providing redundancy and enhancing system reliability.
Another notable feature of the module is its digital-to-analog converter (DAC), which is used for bias adjustment and is able to eliminate the DC component of the signal, thus better concentrating the analog-digital (A/D) input range. In addition, the IS220PVIBH1A has the ability to handle single or dual Ethernet inputs without interfering with the operation of I/O packets, even if either network path fails, and will indicate the fault through the running network connection.
