The SPM-D2-10 series from Woodward is a microprocessor-based synchronizer designed for single – or three-phase alternators equipped with Woodward or other compatible speed control and automatic voltage regulators. These synchronizers are capable of providing automatic frequency, phase and voltage matching using analog or discrete output bias signals and are suitable for many types of generator sets, from fast-reacting diesel engines to soft-reacting gas turbines.
The SPM-D2-10 series synchronisers are equipped with a number of features, including synchronization for one or two circuit breakers, phase matching or slip frequency synchronization and voltage matching, three-phase or two-phase true-rMS voltage sensing with Class I accuracy, as well as sync checking and sync time monitoring. These synchronizers also feature circuit breaker delay compensation, a dual-row bright LCD display for generator and bus values, and a front-facing sync oscilloscope for easy debugging.
In addition, the SPM-D2-10 series synchronizers support configuration via HMI or PC with password protection, ensuring security and flexibility of operation. The products are also UL/cUL certified, CE compliant and RoHS 2 compliant.
The SPM-D2-10 series synchronizers benefit from their compatibility with a wide range of governors, automatic voltage regulators and circuit breakers, with true RMS voltage measurement, reduced sensitivity to harmonics, and as a direct replacement for the existing SPM-D10 synchronizers, continuing Woodward’s legacy of technical leadership and customer support in the synchronizer field.
With the introduction of the SPM-D2-10 series, Woodward not only provides a technologically advanced solution to extend the service life of existing synchronizers, but also ensures that customers’ high component life requirements in power generation projects are met.
