Woodward has introduced a new industrial-grade digital control unit, the 9907-166, which belongs to the Model 505 and 505E microprocessor family and is designed for the precise control of steam turbines. This controller module has a number of advanced technologies and features to meet the high standards of industrial automation.
The 9907-166 control unit is equipped with a 32-bit microprocessor and is capable of controlling industrial-grade steam turbines as well as small units such as utility turbine generators or turbine expanders. It features a range of printed circuit boards mounted in an optional NEMA 4X grading frame and is designed to fit inside the system control panel for harsh industrial environments. In addition, the control unit features two Modbus (ASCII or RTU) communication ports, two MPUs, 16 contact inputs, and six programmable current inputs, as well as two actuator outputs, eight relay outputs, and six programmable current outputs, providing great flexibility and functionality.
