Emerson recently introduced a high-performance VME bus single-board computer, the MVME7100-0173, that delivers exceptional processing power and advanced features to meet the demanding requirements of modern control systems. The single-board computer is powered by NXP’s MPC864xD system-on-chip and features dual PowerPC e600 processor cores at up to 1.3 GHz for powerful computing performance.
The MVME7100-0173 single board computer is equipped with up to 2GB of DDR2 ECC memory and 128MB NOR flash memory, as well as optional 4GB or 8GB NAND flash memory, ensuring ample data processing and storage capacity. In addition, the device offers four Gigabit Ethernet ports that support high-speed data transfer and network connectivity.
The introduction of this single-board computer further enriches Emerson’s product line in industrial automation, providing Oems in industries such as industrial, medical and defense/aerospace with the opportunity to increase performance and functionality while protecting their existing investments in VMEbus and related technologies. The MVME7100-0173 is designed to allow customers to retain their VMEbus infrastructure, such as enclosures, backplanes, and other VMEbus and PMC boards, while improving performance and extending product life cycles.
