GE Multilin SR750-P1-G1-S1-HI-A20-R feeder management relay to improve intelligent grid monitoring
August 27, 2024 – GE Grid Solutions recently introduced a new feeder management relay SR750-P1-G1-S1-HI-A20-R, part of the Multilin 750 family, designed to simplify the management of distribution feeder systems and extend system life. This relay is equipped with a variety of functions to protect the distribution feeder system and, through its metering and data logging functions, reduces the burden on system components while reducing troubleshooting time.
The front panel design of the SR750-P1-G1-S1-HI-A20-R relay is divided into four main parts: a 40-character LCD display, keyboard, LED indicator and RS232 port. The LCD is capable of displaying various system values when not in active use, which can be configured by the user. The keyboard is used for manual set point configuration and general navigation, and LED indicators can provide indications if there is a problem with the system, while keeping the user informed of ongoing processes. The RS232 port allows a simple and direct connection between a computer running the EnerVista 750 software and the relay.
The relay also has a metering function to determine voltage, frequency, watt-hour cost, load-to-trip percentage, and operating and maximum demand equivalents. When the breaker maintenance threshold is exceeded, the relay can use its metering function to trigger an alarm, which can be displayed by the relay’s twenty LED indicators. In addition, additional security measures against unauthorized set point adjustments can be implemented with password protection, which applies to manual edits from the front of the relay as well as edits through the EnerVista 750 program.
The introduction of the GE Multilin SR750-P1-G1-S1-HI-A20-R feeder management relay marks GE’s continued innovation and leadership in power system protection, providing customers with smarter, more efficient and reliable power system protection solutions. With the continuous development of the global power grid and the improvement of reliability requirements, this new relay will provide a more solid guarantee for the stable operation of the power grid
