Schneider Electric’s Foxboro brand recently introduced a new discrete output module, the FBM242, which offers high performance and flexible configuration for a wide range of industrial automation and control system applications. The FBM242 module provides 16 discrete output channels to support discrete output signals at voltages ranging from 15 to 60 V DC, 120 V AC/125 V DC, and 240 V AC. Each input and output are current isolated to ensure system reliability and security.
The FBM242 module is designed to be compact and robust for use in G3 class (harsh) environments. Modules are capable of performing discrete I/O or ladder logic programs and have a variety of configurable options such as input filtering time, fail-safe configuration, fail-safe rollback, and continuous or instantaneous output.
In addition, the module’s power consumption is up to 3 watts at 24 volts DC, the heat dissipation is 6.5 watts (all outputs are 1.5 amps), and the module and terminal components do not require calibration.
The introduction of the FBM242 module further enriches Schneider Electric’s product line in the field of industrial automation, providing strong technical support for a wide range of industries, including chemical, oil and gas, power generation, water treatment, food and beverage production, and building automation. The module’s high reliability and flexible configuration make it ideal for precise control in industrial control systems
