Rockwell Automation recently introduced the new CompactLogix 5370 L2 controller, model 1769-L24ERQB1B. This controller is an extension of the Logix family of controllers and meets the growing demand for high-performance controllers in its compact and affordable package.
The 1769-L24ERQB1B controller has the following main features:
It has 750KB of user memory and 32 controller tasks, each of which can support 100 programs.
It integrates 16 digital input and 16 digital output channels.
Dual EtherNet ports supporting EtherNet/IP protocols with device level ring (DLR) network topology.
Built-in power supply with 24V DC input.
It is equipped with a 1GB SD card and supports up to 2GB SD card expansion.
It provides the capability of 8 Ethernet /IP nodes and 120 TCP connections.
Supports EtherNet/ IP-based integrated motion control up to 4 axes.
Use with Kinetix 350 for a cost-effective and scalable motion control solution.
In addition, the 1769-L24ERQB1B controller also supports open socket functionality, allowing the connection of Modbus TCP as well as other devices such as printers, bar code readers and servers. Its compact design reduces the required panel space by 40%, but features the same functionality as CompactLogix 5370 L3, making it ideal for assembly machinery, lifting systems, process sets, grading tables and packaging equipment.
The introduction of this controller further enriches Rockwell Automation’s product line in the field of industrial automation, providing machine manufacturers and end users with more choice and flexibility. By using the 1769-L24ERQB1B controller, users can build more cost-effective high-performance machines and take full advantage of their features to cut costs.
