ProSoft Technology recently introduced a new industrial communications gateway, PLX32-EIP-SIE, designed for high-speed two-way data transmission, providing an efficient data communication bridge between Rockwell Automation’s PAC and Siemens S7 PAC. PLX32-EIP-SIE has two separate Ethernet ports, allowing each protocol to operate in a separate subnet, and data can be transferred between the two subnets without changing the IP address of the device, which greatly simplifies the complexity of network configuration.
The communication gateway also has embedded EDS additional profiles built in, further simplifying the integration process and reducing debugging time. In addition, PLX32-EIP-SIE also includes an SD card slot (SD card is optional) for easy storage of configuration files for disaster recovery. Its data priority management function supports multiple I/O connections, allowing users to set different response priorities for status and/or control data, ensuring fast transmission of critical data.
In terms of technical specifications, PLX32-EIP-SIE supports EtherNet/IP™ and Siemens Industrial Ethernet protocols, and can communicate with various PLC types such as PLC2, PLC5, SLC, and more. It also supports data exchange for a variety of Siemens S7 series PLCS, including the S7-200, S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200 and S7-1500. In terms of environmental characteristics, the gateway is capable of stable operation in the operating temperature range of -25°C to 70°C, and has IP20 protection class, suitable for various industrial environments.
The introduction of PLX32-EIP-SIE not only enhances ProSoft Technology’s product line in the field of industrial communications, but also provides a reliable solution for industrial applications requiring data exchange between different automation systems. The high performance and ease of use of this communication gateway make it an ideal choice for interconnecting devices in industrial automation.
