GE Fanuc recently introduced the VMIVME-7452 module, a storage module designed for the embedded VMEbus computer family that offers hard disk and floppy disk storage options. The module can be configured with either drive alone or both, while a flash drive is provided as an optional accessory.
The VMIVME-7452 module features a standard VME 6U single-slot form factor with a 3.5-inch 1.44MB floppy drive for low-power operation. It is a passive VME board that is only connected to P2 user defined pins, power and ground. This design enables it to be compatible with VMIC’s VMEbus PC/AT SBC board interfaces, which are integrated with floppy disks and IDE controllers.
The module has a variety of features, including high-speed data processing, multi-axis control, rich communication interfaces, and programming and customization capabilities. It is suitable for a variety of applications such as industrial automation, data acquisition and control systems, aerospace, defense and military applications, medical devices, test and measurement equipment, and scientific research.
The storage capacity of the VMIVME-7452 module supports up to 2GB hard disks and 1.44MB floppy disks. It uses a VMEbus slave interface and is capable of operating from 0°C to +55°C, with vibration resistance of 5 g RMS and shock resistance of 30 g.
The introduction of the VMIVME-7452 module further enriches GE Fanuc’s product line in the field of industrial automation. With its high performance, high reliability and flexible storage options, the module is expected to become an important component in the field of industrial automation control, enabling enterprises to achieve more efficient and intelligent production processes.
