Meggitt Sensing Systems has introduced the IOC4T input/output module, a new member of the VM600 family. Designed for mechanical protection and condition monitoring, this module provides a powerful signal interface for a wide range of industrial applications.
The VM600 IOC4T module supports four dynamic channels and two tachometer (speed) channels, all of which can be configured independently to meet different application needs. The module is mounted at the rear of the VM600 rack and connects directly to the rack backplane via two connectors. It operates in slave mode and communicates with the MPC4 mechanical protection card using an Industrial package (IP) interface via connector P2.
The front panel of the module contains terminal block connectors for connecting transmission cables from the sensor and/or signal regulator. In addition, threaded terminal connectors are also used to input all signals from any external control system and output all signals to any external control system.
The IOC4T module is equipped with EMI protection to provide electromagnetic interference and surge protection for all inputs and outputs, while meeting electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards. It also contains four local relays that can be used under software control for any specific alarm signal.
In addition, 32 digital signals representing alarms are transmitted to the rack backplane and can be used by the RLC16 relay card and/or IRC4 smart relay card mounted on the rack. For dynamic signal processing, four on-board digital-to-analog converters (Dacs) provide calibrated signal outputs in the 0 to 10 V range, while four on-board voltage-to-current converters allow signals to be provided as current outputs in the 4 to 20 mA range (jumper optional).
The launch of the VM600 IOC4T module further enriches Meggitt’s product line in the field of industrial automation and machine protection. With its high performance, high reliability and flexible configuration options, the module is expected to become an important component in the field of industrial automation control, enabling enterprises to achieve more efficient and intelligent production processes.
