What Rockwell module is 1747-FC, and what does it do?
The 1747-FC is a Rockwell ControlLogix input/output module that controls both local and remote I/O.
The ControlLogix platform is rack-mounted modular and its I/O is backplane mounted. The power supply is mounted directly on the left side of the ControlLogix I/O rack. The ControlLogix I/O rack is available in 4, 7, 10, 13, or 17 slots. Module installation is completely independent of slot number; Any module can be installed in any slot of the ControlLogix I/O rack. The ControlLogix I/O module has a maximum of 32 channels. Mechanical keying of the detachable terminal blocks of each module prevents the wrong voltage from being applied to the module. I/O modules can be replaced without disconnecting. Communication In addition to the built-in RS-232 (DF1/DH-485 protocol) port, the network communication interface is modular. Includes EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, DH+, and Universal Remote I/O. It can also be connected to networks such as Profibus DP and Modbus.
