The 1784-KT/B / 1784-KTP Communication Interface Module allows personal computers, workstations or terminals to communicate with Allen-Bradley processors and controllers, either through direct connections or over Data Highway Plus networks. It is an ISA half-size 8-bit card that can be inserted into any 8- or 16-bit ISA expansion slot. The 1784-KT series provides the following features:
– Makes your personal computer an active node on Data Highway Plus networks
– Increases application response time by removing the RS-232 bottleneck
– Provides single cable connection to a PLC-2, PLC- 3, or PLC-5 family programmable controller
– Is address selectable; may be used with other option boards installed in your personal computer
– When combined with 6001-F1E software or INTERCHANGE software, allows you to create your own custom interface to Data Highway Plus networks
– Supported by the following software: 6001-FIE software; 6200 software; INTERCHANGE software; Advisor PC (series E or later); ControlView software

The Allen-Bradley 1784-KT module is a module which allows terminals, workstations, and personal computers to communicate with Allen-Bradley controllers and processors over the DH+ network or over direct connections. The 1784-KT module is a half-size 8-bit ISA card that can be installed in any 16-bit or 8-bit ISA expansion slot. The 1784-KT module enables a computer to act as an active node on the DH+ networks, increases the application response by providing higher throughput compared to the RS-232 network, and it enables a single cable connection to the PLC-5, PLC-3, and PLC-2 controllers. The 1784-KT module is address-selectable and when it is used in combination with 6001-FIE or INTERCHANGE software, it allows users to create their own custom interfaces with DH+ networks. The software compatible with the 1784-KT module include the ControlView, Advisor PC, INTERCHANGE, 6200, and 6001-FIE software.
