Product Description
The 2198-P031 is a 10A DC Bus Supply unit in the Kinetix 5700 Series servo system, which receives 480VAC three-phase power and has a 55mm mounting size. This module is part of the Kinetix 5700 non-regenerative DC bus power supply, which converts three-phase AC line voltage to unfiltered DC bus voltage without providing any provisions for line regeneration or energy recovery from the motor/load system.
In addition, the 2198-P031 is compatible with a variety of drives, including the PowerFlex 520 Series, PowerFlex 750 series, Kinetix 7000, Kinetix 6000 and Kinetix 6200/6500 series. For the PowerFlex 750 series, especially frames 5 and 6, it is recommended if the DC input public bus driver has DC precharge.
In terms of installation and configuration, it is important to follow all applicable specifications, including wire type, conductor size, branch circuit protection and disconnect devices, to ensure the safe installation of electrical equipment. In addition, factors such as AC line impedance, disconnect switch connections, and ground screw/jumper Settings should be considered.
The 2198-P031 also has certain system size limitations, for example, it must comply with IEC 61800-3 (Class C3) when paired with the 2198-DBRxx-F line filter. Combined motor power cables with all axes on the same DC bus must not exceed 400 m (1312 ft) in length and are also suitable for 2198-P031 DC bus power supplies when paired with a 2198-DBxx-F line filter.
In addition, the 2198-P031 has a built-in contactor enable relay that protects the Kinetix 5700 drive system under overload or other failure conditions. During maintenance or operation, you must ensure that the AC power supply is disconnected before any maintenance is performed to avoid the risk of electric shock.
Finally, the 2198-P031, as part of the Kinetix 5700 system, can be used with other types of DC bus power supplies, such as the 2198-RPxxx regenerative DC bus power supply, to build complex drive system configurations.
