Product Description
Extreme Networks recently introduced the X440-G2 series of switches, of which the X440G2-24FX model has attracted attention for its high performance and flexible configuration options. Designed for campus edge applications, this scalable, cost-effective stackable edge switch supports stacking with SummitStack-V technology and can stack up to 8 cells, each providing 40Gb of bandwidth.
The X440G2-24FX model offers 24 100Base-FX ports for fiber optic network connectivity, as well as four 1Gb ports that can be upgraded to 10Gb Ethernet with a software license for future network expansion. In addition, the switch supports IEEE 802.3at PoE+ and IEEE 802.3af PoE, which can provide power to edge devices, especially where a large number of wireless access points and IP cameras need to be deployed.
In terms of security performance, the X440G2-24FX switch provides comprehensive security management, including user policy and host integrity enforcement, identity management, unified port dynamic security files, threat detection and response tools. It also supports intelligent Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 IPv4/IPv6 routing, as well as role-based policies for fine-grained traffic control and access control to specific network services and applications.
The X440-G2 series switches also support audio Video bridging (AVB), ensuring reliable, real-time transmission of audio and video over Ethernet to meet the quality of service requirements of high-definition, time-sensitive multimedia streaming. In addition, the switch supports the Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) standard, reduces energy consumption, and offers a variety of power supply options, including built-in power and optional external redundant power (RPS).
The RH102AN x440G2-24fx transmitter is a device for measuring relative humidity and temperature and, in combination with the X440-G2-24FX switch, provides accurate environmental monitoring for industrial automation and process control. The physical dimensions of the switch are 43.94 mm in height, 440.94 mm in width, 254.25 mm in depth, and about 3.66 kg in weight.
