T8830 Trusted 40-channel Analog Input FTA T8830 offers maximum termination of 40 input channels from various types of field equipment that generate analog inputs. Figure 2 below shows the configuration of a single channel. The field’s supply is derived from twin 24 volt DC feeders, which are “common” through diodes regarding the FTA. A green LED indicates the presence of a power source. The supply is then fed to each channel.
A power supply voltage is provided to the field through a 50 mah fuse. This effectively limits the current magnetic field loop. The voltage develops across the 250 Ω resistance due to the incoming analog signal from the field equipment fed directly to the analog input module. The cable connecting the 40 channels on the input module to the FTA terminates at 96-way socket SK1. SmartSlot(version 1) signals are connected from the module to SK1. The SmartSlot connector is SK2, also a 96 way socket. This connector is not intended for use by SmartSlot Version 2 in trusted systems. Dual DC field power supply
Connect to the FTA through the 5-way terminal block PWR TB. The input signal from the field (40 levels) is connected to the upper block and 2-off 2-way of the 3-way terminals of the 12 levels by a 2-wire arrangement.
