Each TMR analog input module has three separate sets of electronics, called channels, that independently process input field data into the module. Each channel puts the processed data into an array and transmits the array request to the relevant MP channel. Lawmakers previously vote on the data and pass it on to the app. In the role mode, the data passed is the median. In dual-mode, the data passed is average.
The AI module includes complete, ongoing diagnostics for each channel. If diagnostics detects any fault channels, the fault indicator lights up and activates the system alarm. The fault indicator is used to identify a channel fault, not a complete module fault. There are a number of drawbacks to keeping a module running properly in the presence of a single failure and possibly continuing to run properly.
The AI module supports hot spare. Each AI module has mechanical keys to prevent improper installation on the configured baseboard. The Model 3351 AI module can be used with these baseboards:
• Type 2351, which is used in typical 4-20 mA applications.
