It is used for data acquisition purpose. This high-performance device offers 18-bits of accuracy for analog inputs. The 5 digits measurements of DC and 18-bit resolution measurements are equivalent. This module also includes an amplifier, which provides superb linearity. The USB-6525 National Instruments additionally incorporates low-pass filters, which are programmable. These filters reject the noise of high-frequency and block aliasing.

The National Instruments NI USB-6525 includes a feature of change detection. This device sends an interruption in case of any change. It detects a change in the input line(s) and sends this interruption. The user can program this device to use this feature. The typical delay of propagation is 65 µs for the isolated inputs. The lowest value of pulse-width is 200 µs for a change detection in isolated inputs. The switching current in SSR outputs of the NI DAQ USB 6525 is 500 mA maximum.
