The CX5130 uses an Intel Atom processor with a multicore clock rate of 1.75 GHz. This makes true multi-core technology possible in embedded computers. The hardware interfaces in this series are in the same direction and implementation as those in the existing CX5000 series. Two separate gigabit-capable Ethernet ports are available as well as four USB 2.0 and one DVI-I port. Optional interfaces create a number of further connection options and gateway functions that can be pre-installed at factory, as well as input-output levels that can optionally consist of E-bus or K-bus terminals.
The CX5130 features a low power consumption and fanless design.
Depending on the installed twin Cat runtime environment, the CX5130 can be used to implement PLC or PLC/ motion control projects, with or without visualization. Motion control applications with interpolated axis motion can also be executed.
Like the CX5000, the CX5100 series has a compact design; Modular devices with expansion modules like the CX2000 series are not provided.
