Technical Description Kongsberg MRU-2：

MRU 2 is commonly used for roll and pitch measurements in offshore riser monitoring systems, dynamic positioning systems, telecommunications antenna compensation systems, and motion damping systems on high-speed ships. The MRU 2 integrates two high-precision accelerometers and two micro-electro-mechanical structure (MEMS) angular rate gyroscopes. The device achieves high reliability through the use of solid-state sensors with no rotating or mechanically worn components

Data output protocol/format
MRU 2 outputs the static and dynamic roll Angle and pitch Angle and the corresponding angular velocity vector. The device outputs surge and swing acceleration. The status of MRU 2 is available online. For this fifth generation MRU data is available through an Ethernet interface and serial line, making MRU data easily distributed to multiple users on board. The output data can be transmitted over two separately configurable serial lines and Ethernet /UDP. Output variables are transmitted as IEEE 32-bit floating point numbers (recommended) or proportional integers. In addition, the ASCII-based NMEA 0183 proprietary statement can be chosen as the data output protocol.
