MRU2 KONGSBERG Rolling and pitching motion sensor

The MRU 2 contains two highly accurate accelerometers and two micro-electro-mechanical structures (MEMS) angular

velocity gyros. This unit is complete with a solid state sensor without resistance, reliability of high rotation or mechanical

wear parts. The device provides Windows-based configuration and data presentation software. After configuring the unit

vector gravity (CG) between the MRU and the ship center, the MRU 2 will output accurate roll and pitch measurements

even when it is mounted on a tall ship, like on a bridge. This is due to the ability to inhibit the effect of acceleration on the

roll and the pitch performance. This makes the MRU 2 superior to the tiltometer, pendulum mount, and canonical verticometer reference units.
Output variable
MRU 2 outputs static and dynamic roll and pitch angles and corresponding angular rate vectors. Unit output surge and rocking acceleration.
Digital I/O protocol
MRU data is available through two Ethernet interfaces and serial lines, enabling easy distribution of MRU data to multiple users on

board. The output data below is available in two separately configured serial lines and Ethernet/UDP. The output variable is transmitted

as an IEEE 32-bit floating-point number (recommended) or as a scaled integer. In addition, ascii based NMEA 0183 proprietary sentences can be selected as data output protocols.
